Humidifier

During storage, air humidity is a crucial factor when preserving crop weight and health. Dehydration occurs in each cooling method and especially when using mechanical cooling. When executed correctly, water injection can keep humidity at a constant level and prevents the forming of droplets.

The use of compressed air supported low pressure nozzles in the past resulted in splashing and dripping, increasing the chance of infection. The QEP Holland humidifier, the QEP HU1, is the solution for this problem. A fine mist is created by injecting water at a pressure of 120 bar.

Humidity can be kept at 100% without the forming of droplets at the nozzles. Each humidifier gives 1 ltr/min and feeds 5 to 12 nozzles. Easily installable PP (polypropylene) tubing with snap couplings connect the nozzles. When possible, the nozzles can be placed directly in the ventilation air stream to facilitate the distribution of the moisture.

Depending on the size of the cell and the type of product, options include a collection of multiple QEP HU1 humidifiers or one combined larger system. Please feel free to contact us for more information about custom build larger systems.
