What our customers are saying about us

Adrie Daanen, director Hortilife (Twello, The Netherlands)
“There is a solution to every problem. Sometimes the answer is obvious, other times it needs more thought and creativity. That’s the reason we choose QEP Holland as our competent and flexible partner and supplier of technical products for water treatment and control technology. The open communication about our sometimes challenging projects particularly in Russia and Ukraine and the vast experience QEP Holland has in these countries, always results in custom made and smart solutions. We provide QEP Holland with an optimal prognosis that allows them to plan their production facility and maintain their stock level to our needs. QEP Holland is a relatively small company with a flat organisation that makes the process clear and easy to work with.”

Gerard van der Deijl, director Lafto Roses (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia)
“Operating in Africa and operating in Europe are two different affairs. Everything in Africa, in our case, Ethiopia, must be simple and sturdy. Power failures, high temperatures and difficult to obtain spare parts are issues we as horticulturists have to deal with on a daily basis. All the same, our plants need a constant water supply. The experience QEP Holland has in Africa, as well as recommendations from fellow companies in Kenia, made us buy a UV disinfection unit for our drain recycling in 2008. Here our relationship with QEP Holland did not end.

In 2009 we expanded our facility and during that development the expertise of QEP Holland benefited us greatly; they calculated the irrigation distribution system, the drain recycling, the clean water and chemicals and they supervised the installation. Our final expansion to over 27 Ha is planned in the end of 2013. QEP Holland makes sure the capacity of our water treatment system is sufficient for that production area. QEP Holland can and will tackle anything and everything.”

Andrei Fokkin, director Ritza (Zavodo-Oekovsk, Russia)
“18 years ago, a Dutch company built our greenhouse according to the then latest techniques. After all these years of intensive use the greenhouse needed to be rebuilt to increase its efficiency. Our initial plan was to demolish the greenhouse and build a new one, sustaining the office and modernising the existing processing area and boiler room. For us, this was an affordable solution. Together with the engineers of Hortilife and QEP Holland a couple of different options were explored. And, to our big surprise, they presented a plan in which the existing greenhouse could not only be maintained but extended with a new 2.25 Ha greenhouse construction as well. And all this within budget!

The existing fertilizer mixer was adjusted for drain recirculation and connected to a new Sercom climate computer. QEP Holland supplied a new mixing and misting unit for the new greenhouse section. The heating system was expanded with an extra boiler and flue gas condenser. The measurement of the CO2 concentration in the greenhouse was carried out by a QEP Holland CO2 multiplexer, linked to a new Sercom climate computer that was able to control the climate in both the old and the new greenhouse.

Both the construction of the new greenhouse as the renovation of the existing construction was completed in 2012. Our energy consumption dropped significantly and we are using less fertilizer. The climate for cultivation is at an optimum and the yield is higher than before. Now our company is up-to-date and ready for the future.”
